Man United boss eyes dream signing of $425,000-a-week star
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly earmarked Toni
Kroos as his dream signing for next summer’s transfer window. The
Portuguese tactician has spent significantly to bolster the United
ranks, and this has paid dividends with the club making solid progress
across all competitions.
According to Calciomercato, United could seek to bolster the midfield department further next summer with Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos identified as the number one target.
The £325,000-per-week ($425,000) was linked with a proposed move to Old Trafford during David Moyes’ reign, but the move could not materialise as he joined Los Blancos a year later.
The World Cup winner was initially said to struggle with life in the Spanish capital, and he has since adapted tremendously winning the Champions League crown on two occasions.
Manchester United and Real Madrid have had a dampening relationship since David de Gea’s failed move to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2015, and this could hamper United’s chances of signing Kroos.
Nevertheless, Mourinho could still make an offer for the German as his precise passing skills and goalscoring ability makes him a perfect partner for the likes of Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba in midfield.
Meanwhile, Calciomercato suggests that United are also keeping tabs on Monaco ace Fabinho, although he is not the first-choice in the manager’s shortlist for next summer.
