ZIMBABWE: Mugabe gets $10m payment.
The ousted president Robert Mugabe will get $10-million lump sum payment, full monthly salary, medial cover, security as well
as protection of his private properties, as part of a deal that led to his
resignation.Apart from granted immunity from prosecution.So far Zimbabwean government has agreed to give him $5million lump sum and remained will be paid as installment also will be given full medical cover apart from full salary per month as it was in his leadership.Zimbabwean government has also agreed after his death his wife will be given half salary per month as part of the for the rest of her life.Despite of this there is tug of war from opposition leaders such as Mr. Douglas Mwonzora claiming that this is unconstitutional deal as far as President to be immunity to criminal or wrong doing during his leadership.
Mugabe was ousted after a 37-year rule that has left the country impoverished. His government was accused of several human rights violations. He was also accused of maladministration, which has led to a collapse of Zimbabwe’s economy and healthcare system, among other administrative failures.
